**Job Description:**Intervl are representing a leading UK designer and manufacturer of solar mounting systems. They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join the design and development team, focusing on the design and implementation of ground-mounted solar products. This is a hybrid role, with the Head Office based in Somerset, offering potential for remote work. As a Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the structural integrity and reliability of solar installations, contributing to the advancement of renewable energy solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design and analyse structural systems for ground-mounted solar arrays, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Conduct site assessments and surveys to evaluate soil conditions, topography, and other factors affecting structural design and installation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, architects, and construction professionals to develop comprehensive solar installation plans.
- Generate detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for structural components and foundations.
- Perform structural analysis using appropriate software tools to assess load capacities, stress levels, and overall performance of solar structures.
- Provide technical guidance and support to installation teams during the construction phase, addressing any structural challenges or issues that may arise.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the field of solar energy and structural engineering.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering, with a focus on renewable energy projects preferred.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and standards related to structural design and construction.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software for creating detailed engineering drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot complex structural issues.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
