Job Role
Advocacy and Representation: Ensuring that looked after children are heard in meetings, reviews, and decisions that impact their lives.
Participation Programs: Developing and managing programs that encourage children in care to participate in activities, groups, and forums where they can express their views.
Feedback Mechanisms: Establishing systems to gather feedback from children in care on the services they receive and using this information to improve care practices.
Workshops and Training: Organizing workshops and training sessions to empower children and young people, helping them to understand their rights and how to express their views effectively.
Independent Visitor Coordinator
Volunteer Recruitment and Training: Recruiting, vetting, and training volunteers who will serve as Independent Visitors for children in care.
Matching: Carefully matching children with suitable Independent Visitors who can provide consistent, long-term support.
Support and Supervision: Providing ongoing support and supervision to Independent Visitors to ensure they are effectively meeting the needs of the children.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitoring the progress and outcomes of Independent Visitor relationships and evaluating the effectiveness of the program.
