Posted by Academics .

A Special Needs school (SEN) in Islington, is seeking to appoint a motivated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to start in September 2024 in a full-time role. This Special school is for children aged 11 to 18 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism (ASD) and complex Medical needs. The school provides an outstanding learning environment that meets the needs of all pupils, while empowering and inspiring them to achieve their full potential.

Experience of working with children and young people with Special Needs is desirable but they also welcome applicants who are willing to develop their skills and have the right personality to be successful in this unique environment. The position is suitable for individuals who are caring, patient and passionate about helping and nurturing children.

If you come from a Nursing or care background, you would also have the relevant skills needed to assist the pupils. Likewise, someone with a qualification in social care or health or psychology would also be well suited.

The successful applicant will be required to work 5 days per week (8:30 - 16:00). You will be responsible for supporting students within the small class group of 8-10 pupils and sometimes expected to work 1:1 with the pupils. Pupils are usually taken off site at least once a week and with all staff required to provide additional support.

There is an established and dedicated staff team at the school who are committed to supporting both the children and their families. You will have access to regular training and development opportunities within your role.

If this rewarding role sounds like something you would be interested in, please apply today as trial days and interviews will be taking place in June and July!
