Job Profile
The successful Support Worker will have significant experience in residential childcare, with a focus on supporting children with emotional and behavioral difficulties. This role requires someone who is passionate about providing high-quality care, with the ability to lead and inspire a team. The Support Worker will play a key role in ensuring the well-being and development of the children, while supporting the management team in the day-to-day operations of the home.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children with emotional and behavioral difficulties.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, ensuring high standards of care and professionalism.
  • Promote a safe and nurturing environment, using therapeutic parenting techniques.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies, families, and other stakeholders.

Skills/Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a residential childcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD) and best practices in supporting children with these needs.
  • Excellent leadership and team support skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, families, and external agencies.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare or social work (Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent preferred).

Hours

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week (flexible working arrangements can be agreed).

Package

  • Competitive salary of up to £26,000 per annum.
  • 20 days plus bank holidays.
