Your New Role

Joining a financial, entrepreneurial and cultural hub that attracts a diverse range of students and faculty and creating an abundance of opportunities to network with industry experts and alumni worldwide. The Financial Reporting Accountant role involves being a key contributor to the production of external financial reporting for the organisation, particularly focusing on year-end financial statements and reporting to the Office for Students. You will manage the financial reporting for the organisations associate companies, including year-end financial statements and monthly management accounts. Additionally, you will support the Financial Reporting Manager and Associate Director of Finance by researching technical accounting queries, liaising with the organisations key advisers, preparing ad hoc reports, and supporting various projects as required. You will also liaise with auditors regarding audit queries and the completion of financial statements, manage the month-end and financial reporting, monitor and analyze spend for core Finance cost centers, and assist in budget and forecast preparation. Other responsibilities include weekly postings of Gift Shop and Catering income with appropriate VAT treatment, reviewing supplier BACS runs, and supporting Treasury matters such as developing robust cash reporting procedures and performing investment reconciliations.

To Ensure Your Success

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree or have equivalent experience, with full or part-professional qualifications also being advantageous. They must possess excellent communication skills, capable of engaging a variety of audiences effectively. Experience with software related to their area of expertise, including the ability to build basic models or tools, is essential. A working knowledge of relevant policies, regulations, and legislation is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial, along with the ability to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders. The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and focus on material issues to ensure efficient and effective outcomes.
