At Canada Life, we're proud to help people make more of life. With a recent office move to an incredible new London workspace and a newly launched story which connects our people to our purpose and ambitious strategy, we're at an exciting point in our journey. You will play a key role in helping us to continue to bring our people on that journey with us.

We're looking for someone who can bring creativity and new ideas to how we engage and communicate with our colleagues, to help them understand the important role they play in our story.

Building trusted partnerships with your stakeholders is an important element of the role, and you will be working closely with key areas of the business to help them bring their plans to life for our colleagues.

This is a senior and influential role, reporting into our Head of Internal Comms, and working closely with the rest of the IC team.

What you'll do:

  • Play a vital part in shaping and developing the strategic communications narrative for our colleagues which is aligned with business objectives and strategy, and bring this to life for our colleagues. You will develop communications and content working alongside the Internal Communications team, our Executive team and other Senior Leaders to ensure this is implemented in collaboration with colleagues across our business.
  • Using considerable subject-matter expertise, you will have the ability to cut through ambiguity and influence and advise in a change environment.
  • Lead change communications programmes including high-profile and strategically important campaigns, bringing knowledge and experience of multiple channels and involving senior stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop the skills and knowledge of other team members, leading by example and role modelling our behaviours.
  • Act as Head of Internal Communications deputy, attending senior leadership meetings where required, and partnering with members of our executive team on communications campaigns.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Demonstrable experience in devising and executing impactful colleague communications and engagement programmes. A proven track record in devising communications plans, collaborating across teams cross-business and playing an influential role in driving change.
  • Creative flair, ability to think big and a willingness to try out new ideas to bring the best communications experience to our colleagues.
  • Proven track record of achieving success in change and transformation environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrating a clear and articulate standard of written and verbal communication in a complex environment.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, with experience of engaging with senior management in order to get the desired outcome.
