About Us:
A dynamic and inclusive primary school in Ealing, dedicated to supporting the educational and developmental needs of all our students. We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Reception class team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with severe behavior challenges.

Job Description:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to a Reception class student with severe behavior challenges. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff to implement individualized strategies and interventions that promote positive behavior and learning.

Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a student with severe behavior challenges in a Reception class
- Assist with implementing educational healthcare plans (EHCPs) and behavior management plans
- Develop and maintain a positive, supportive relationship with the student
- Facilitate the student's access to the curriculum and participation in classroom activities
- Use appropriate techniques and strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors
- Monitor and record the student's progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO
- Support the student during transitions, breaks, and lunchtimes
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt and modify teaching materials and approaches

Requirements:
- Previous experience worng as an SEN Teaching Assistant, particularly with children with severe behavior challenges
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and interventions
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in dealing with challenging behaviors
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trusting and supportive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Commitment to promoting an inclusive and positive learning environment
- Relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable
