Relief Support Worker

At WhiteInch Move On Service in Glasgow, our aim is help those we support to sustain a lifestyle free from drugs and alcohol, and to become an active and contributing member of society. We encourage them to take the lead in creating their own recovery plan that meets their own personal needs and aspirations. And it is our staff that are there to support them work towards their goals and gain confidence to recover.

As a support worker, you will get to know those using our services, help them to get settled into their new lives and work with to develop their own plan for recovery. Our employees tell us they're supported, enthusiastic and have opportunities to develop meaningful careers. We're looking for someone great to join our team.

Our staff have come from all walks of life and we don't want you to be a cog in a wheel. We want you to bring your previous skills and experience working in addiction, homelessness or mental health and your ability to build relationships and trust to the role and help us to change lives.

Whilst not essential, a driving license is advantageous

As this is a relief position, you will be able to work flexibly around other commitments and yet still get to contribute to turning people's lives around.

As we do our work in Christ's name you must be respectful of our Christian Ethos and be able to work within it.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
