The deckhand will be responsible for the general day to day operation and maintenance onboard the vessels and surrounding assets.
The deckhand's role is incredibly varied and gives an excellent opportunity to learn about the general operations on board.
Location: The Woolwich Ferry London SE18.

Contract Length: 6 month rolling
Pay: £26.21 per hour PAYE
Hours: 35 per week (roster based).
Duties
General purpose duties associated with the day-to-day operation of the Woolwich Ferry, working as part of a roster which includes night shift working, including but not limited to
Safe loading and unloading operations.
General safety and security duties.
Maintenance of the vessels,
Infrastructure and equipment.
Mooring and bunkering operations,
Any other duties as directed by the Duty Operations Manager, Captain and Marine Engineering Officer.
Comply with and promote all of the requirements of the Woolwich Ferry Safety Management System,
TfL policies and procedures, Captains / Marine Engineering Manager standing orders and industry best standards as applicable.
Provide a high level of customer service and care.
Skills required:
2 years or more experience as a Deckhand on Large Vessels
Competent with all aspects of safe and efficient passenger ferry operations.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to successfully manage conflict when interfacing with customers.
Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining a high level of concentration and care.
Flexible to work on shift patterns which include early, late and weekend shifts.
