A FTSE top listed multinational are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT leader to join them as Data Analytics & Platform Lead.
In this role, you will be responsible for defining and leading the data strategy. You will have the opportunity to own the data platform, design, build, and lead the data center of excellence, develop and manage a high-performing team, oversee the development and management of a data factory.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives. This includes identifying data sources, database design and structure, data integrity, and database tools. Guide the future direction of data strategy and processes to support revenue and profitability objectives.
- Take ownership of the data platform and ensure its effectiveness and efficiency. Design and implement solutions to optimize data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
- Establish and lead a data center of excellence that serves as a hub for data-related activities within the organization. Develop and implement best practices for data management, governance, and security. Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams in leveraging data and analytics for decision-making.
- Oversee the development and management of a data factory using Azure Data Factor. Collaborate with the IT function to design, build, and maintain data pipelines, workflows, and data transformation processes. Ensure the data factory operates efficiently and meets the organization's data integration and delivery needs.
- Manage the budget for data strategy, analytics, and data factory initiatives. Focus on enabling business value while keeping a close eye on costs, including cost optimization measures. Identify opportunities for cost savings, particularly in cloud services, delivery, and support costs. Implement strategies and best practices to optimize costs without compromising on quality and performance.
- Establish and lead data governance practices across the business. Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to define data governance standards and enforce compliance. Drive a culture of data governance and ensure adherence to data governance principles.
- Work closely with other IT teams to provide both capabilities and delivery of data and analytic use cases. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand their data needs and develop solutions that maximize business value from data through analytics and AI.
- Manage a team near shore to create and maintain our organizations master data with a focus on driving quality while ensuring we support the business with their relevant requests.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
- Proven experience in data strategy, analytics, and AI within a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of data management principles, database design, and data governance.
- Experience in building and leading high-performing teams.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory or similar data integration tools.
- Budget management experience, with a focus on cost optimization.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
