Data Engineer - GCP, Big Query, Airflow

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced data engineer to join our financial services client on a contract basis. The successful candidate will work with cutting-edge technology, including GCP, BigQuery, Airflow and MLOps life cycle techniques. If you have previous experience working within the financial services sector and possess excellent programming skills using Python or SQL (with knowledge of Scala or Java), we want to hear from you.

Role Overview:

As an expert data engineer, your primary role is to design solutions that enable efficient processing of large datasets using cloud-based technologies such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will collaborate closely with other developers across various departments while ensuring compliance standards adherence. Your expertise should include proficiency in coding languages like Python/SQL along with familiarity around concepts such as ETL pipelines development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop robust big-data-centric systems;
- Designing high-performance workflows utilizing tools like Apache Airflow;
- Writing well-crafted code following best practices;
- Collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams;

The client can pay up to 700-800 (inside IR35) a day dependant on experience on an initial 6 month contract. This role will be hybrid o the candidate must be able to attend the London Office a couple of days a week.
