Graduate Social Media Executive for graduate recruitment agency

Posted by SME Graduate Employment Ltd.

I'm Matthew Parry, Director of SME Graduate Employment. I'm a specialist graduate recruiter. The business has been going since December 2020 and up to now I have been doing the Marketing myself. I've learned things, and used my instinct. And I've done ok.

But I want to do better than ok. And I don't have the time to do it. So that's where you come in.

THE WAY IT WORKS

I help small to medium sized business to find the right graduates. Many do not have the time or expertise to do this themselves. If I find them someone they pay me a fee.

There are around 70-100 job vacancies throughout an average year. They can be at any time of the year; in all parts of the UK; and across many different industry sectors and job types.

While a lot of graduates respond to job adverts, the right ones don't always see them; so a lot of proactive work is needed. And social media is a big part of this.

WHERE IT'S AT NOW

The business has a presence on LinkedIn, Instagram; Twitter/X; Facebook; and TikTok. Posting is currently inconsistent, as I don't have the time to be doing a lot. Some channels are used more than others.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

You'll be using social media to raise the profile of the business, and to help with finding candidates for jobs.

Each time a job comes on you will create a graphic (I have Canva) and post it on various channels. You can use your strategic skills to think of any ways this can be more specifically targeted to the right people for each vacancy.

There will also be some general work, using blogs that I have written (advice on applications etc). And if you would like to write a blog, or create content for TikTok, that would be great.

I would also like the followers of channels to be increased; but I'm not just focused on the numbers. I would much rather have 100 people who are relevant, than 1,000 who are not.

I write the job adverts, and you will also be posting these in various places.

There may also be some market research work, especially finding new businesses for me to call. I can show you how to find these.

A BIT ABOUT YOU

You may be a graduate who his looking for some experience to help you get a Marketing job; or a current student who is looking for something alongside your studies. Or you're maybe looking for a part-time job for other reasons.

Your degree should ideally be Marketing related; but others will be considered if you've got some experience.

You will need to be up to date with the latest Marketing trends and techniques. While I can show you a lot about the way things are set up etc, I want to be making use of your knowledge. It would be great if you have ideas to use to improve things, particularly in relation to the best ways to get in contact with students and graduates.

Good spelling and grammar are essential; I'm very proud of my business and want the image to be represented well at all times. Posts with errors on can be very harmful.

For now, I'm looking at around 5 hours a week. If all goes well this will probably increase in the future. It may even become permanent, if that's what you're looking for; and there could also be some scope to get involved with the recruitment side if you like.

The hours are flexible to some extent, but you'll need to be fairly responsive; when a job comes on I would like it to be promoted on that day (and ideally asap). So if you have a lot of other commitments it may not work.

You'll be based from home, but location would ideally be in or near to Nottingham as we will need to meet occasionally.

Please make sure you're CV has all relevant information included as I will be looking to see that you're a good match.
