Your new role
Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in a dynamic and innovative organisation. As a key player, you will manage the entire project portfolio and annual budget, ensuring that costs are monitored against deliverables and benefits are realized as projects progress. Your work will be closely aligned with the company's strategic goals, making a significant impact on its success.
In this role, you will plan, schedule, and allocate projects based on agreed priorities. You'll collaborate with IT and Business Managers to prepare comprehensive Project Plans and Stage Plans, which will be reviewed and approved by the Operational Leadership Committee (OLC). Your ability to provide ongoing updates and project assurance to the OLC will be crucial in maintaining transparency and accountability.

You will oversee the program deliverables, including change management, and monitor overall progress. This involves resolving issues and initiating corrective actions as needed to ensure projects stay on track. Your goal will be to deliver new products and services to the highest quality standards, on time, and within budget. Managing third-party contributions will also be a key aspect of your responsibilities.

Additionally, you will produce Project Initiation Documents for each project, covering system, technical, legal, and compliance aspects. Your role will involve liaising with the Project Committee and preparing data insights, such as Highlight Reports and End Stage Reports, to ensure the overall direction and integrity of the projects.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience in managing large change programs (circa £20M+)
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programs
  • Sound business case development and approvals skills.
  • Good understanding of the procurement process including negotiation with third parties
  • Knowledge and experience of project management methods including MSP and PRINCE2
  • Strong knowledge and experience of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
  • Ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems.
  • Experience in Finance / Financial Services
