Special Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a mainstream primary school in Coventry, CV3. This full-time position is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive impact on children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working across Key Stage 1 (KS1), providing one-on-one support and working with small groups of children. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that every child receives the tailored assistance they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide targeted support to children with a range of SEN, including one-on-one and small group interventions.

Assist the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting lesson materials to meet the diverse needs of students.

Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring all children feel valued and supported.

Monitor and record the progress of children, reporting to the class teacher and SENCO as required.

Work collaboratively with the wider school team to support the holistic development of each child.

Requirements:

Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.

Confidence and competence in supporting children with a variety of needs, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.

A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with children.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
