Join our client's dynamic and award-winning in-house investment team, managing billions in assets. Our long-established client, based in the heart of the City of London, has created a new Investment Data Analyst position to support a collaborative and supportive front office team. The Investment Team is at the forefront of the market, dedicated to delivering excellence and sustainability across a wide range of asset classes, from vanilla bonds to hedge funds, private markets to direct property.
In this newly created Investment Data Analyst role, you will be responsible for establishing and developing reporting and analytics for the front office, providing detailed information and insight into the running of the investment management business. Collaborating with the investment team to understand their data needs, you will define requirements to build reporting and analytics to answer key questions around portfolio management, scheme and fund performance, and investment risk.
You will be experienced at working with data providers such as MSCI (BarraOne) and Charles River (CRIMS) to provide and consume key data sets and allow their deployment into the cloud for reporting and analytics. You will lead the migration of analytics data into the cloud, construct data models to show the interactions between data entities, and support and enhance data extractions from data providers, including the use of APIs and flat files to transfer data. You will be experienced at designing and implementing SQL tables, queries, and checks to monitor portfolio characteristics and investment risk metrics.
Proficiency in Excel is essential to manage the integration of Excel files containing limits and tolerances into the reporting solution for daily updates and checks. You will develop and maintain automated reporting and dashboard visualisation in Power BI for real-time decision-making. You will assume responsibility for collaborating with external asset managers to streamline data collection processes and develop and maintain import templates that facilitate the accurate and efficient integration of external data into systems.
You will assume responsibility for engaging and managing relationships with key data providers, managing issues and enhancing the quality and scope of data provided. As a data steward, you will take ownership of the data for all portfolios, assets, benchmark/index, and associated data within third-party systems such as CRIMS and downstream systems, ensuring data accuracy. In addition, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of the resolution of data issues to improve the quality of data provided, ensuring appropriate control checks and validation to provide high-quality data. In team leadership, you will undertake team management activities where required and be a leader in terms of values and coordination within the middle office team.
