This is a very exciting and unique newly created Financial Controller role, working for a high growth SME based in Wetherby.
This globally reaching business has experienced phenomenal year on year growth since they were established, and they now have a clear and focused growth plan to double the turnover within the next 3 years - so there could not be a better time to join them as Financial Controller!
You will be responsible for the day to day running of the finances for the business, overseeing the finance team, but most importantly working closely with the Board of Directors and CFO to drive growth and expansion.
The role will report to and work closely with the CFO and Chairman overseeing the day to day running of the finance function for the business. The role will play a crucial part in helping influence key business and strategic decision making, driving the business forward and forging and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- *The role would be ideally suited to a commercially focused Financial Controller, who has previous experience working autonomously in a fast paced, hand on Financial Controller role, within an SME environment, looking to progress to FD level in the next 1-3 years**
The team is full time office based in Wetherby.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the key duties will be:
- Managing and overseeing the small accounts team to ensure that tasks are completed accurately and in line with the month end timetable
- Continuous improvement and development of the team, supporting and mentoring
- Continuous development of internal controls and processes
- Preparing the management accounts in line with set deadlines
- Reviewing the month end spend analysis and accruals and prepayment
- Balance Sheet and Control Account reconciliations and review
- Approving payments and reviewing and managing cashflow
- Overseeing and managing the annual audit process and preparing the statutory accounts
- Preparation and review of other key financial reports as required
The successful candidate will
- Be ACCA/ACA/CIMA Qualified, with a minimum of 3 years experience within a number 1 or 2 role - Essential
- Have previous experience of managing/supervising a team - Essential
- Have previous experience of working in a high growth or PE backed business – Essential
