Ecommerce Copywriter and Content Manager

Posted by AF Selection.

A newly created role, we're on the lookout for a copywriter with great ecommerce experience, who loves creating innovative and exciting listings. This is a role which will eventually lead to the management of a small team, so plenty of room for growth and personal development.

The role:

Our client is a retailer with many routes to market both physical and digital, and this role will focus on the direct-to-consumer ecommerce space. Naturally they have a really strong PIM which links really well to all of their external ecommerce channels, but this role will take a real focus on creating SEO enriched content for sites that have specific requirements - the places where one size does not fit all and to really increase sales you need to really look at their specific requirements.

You'll be responsible for all product written continent across its lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance as well as ensuring the PIM system is updated and managed for all channels. You will be really hands on with copywriting to produce the required content for sales and marketing operations including brand 'tone of voice'.

There will be some delivery of long copy inspiration, research led articles and interview based content to deliver engagement with a wide trade and consumer audience, but this will be to a lesser extent. There is lots of opportunity for creativity though, and you'll also get involved with brand development. You'll liaise with internal teams, reaching out for missing information to ensure accuracy.

This is a new role within the team and it is expected that you will manage a small team of digital copywriters in the very near future.

What we're looking for:

This is definitely a role which will suit someone who loves listings as this will be the focus of your role. We need you to have experience within an ecommerce environment and a portfolio which demonstrates the creation of SEO rich product titles, features and descriptions which support online sales across multiple ecommerce platforms. If you have experience of a using a PIM, that would be great, but if you've only worked with Excel databases, that's not a problem as training will be given.

You'll be keen to move more into a management role and to lead a small team of copywriters, so realistically you'll have a couple of years' experience under your belt. Delivering to deadlines is an important skill to possess as is being a creative thinker. You'll also be confident enough to liaise with other departments within the business.

What's on Offer?

Salary for the role will depend on experience and is between £30-35,000, and you'll work on a hybrid basis, 3 days in the office. There's loads of opportunities for progression and you'll be part of a genuine, down to earth team.
