Key Responsibilities:

As a Software Solution Architect you will be working with the latest cloud technologies and Microsoft Azure cloud, supporting the development of ground-breaking HR, Payroll and Finance Software Systems.

You will work with delivery teams and key stakeholders to provide decision making, support and guidance to develop the People First platform sustainably and effectively. You will develop and evangelize architectural design principles and initiatives to benefit software development and to achieve business outcomes.

Cloud Native Application Design: Collaborate with technical leads to design applications that run effectively in the Azure cloud.

Develop Deep Domain Knowledge: Build a deep understanding of the HR + Payroll domain and communicate your technical vision to unpin it.

Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with key technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements Ownership: Oversee non-functional requirements, service level objectives, and platform quality attributes.

Technology Investigation: Investigate new technologies and determine how they can be utilised within People First.

Strategic Roadmaps: Develop comprehensive roadmaps to adopt new capabilities into the application architecture.

Enterprise Collaboration: Work with enterprise architecture to provide a solution architecture perspective and support broader business architecture goals.

Communication: Clearly communicate the benefits of architectural enhancements to business stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Support: Assist cross-functional teams in product development to ensure a high-quality architecture.

Architectural Expertise: Act as the subject matter expert for architectural patterns within the software platform.

Compliance Governance: Ensure platform compliance with the Azure well-architected framework.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest developments on the Azure platform and identify relevant new capabilities.

Process Improvement: Drive continuous process improvement and maintain a solutions-focused mindset.

Documentation and Guardrails: Establish and document guardrails and reference architectures to guide engineering implementations.

Team Collaboration: Work with other solution architects and the wider architecture team to define effective solution architectures.

Key Technical Skills:

  • Strong foundation of software application development (ideally Java or .NET)
  • Strong understand of design patterns and effective software architecture design
  • Strong understanding of service integration. - especially messaging and REST
  • Good understanding of cloud native application design
  • Strong ability to communicate architectures both verbally and using effective written communication and diagramming
  • Knowledge of web security standards (OAuth2, OIDC)
  • Good understanding of Microservice principles
  • Domain Driven Design
  • AI/LLM knowledge beneficial
  • Ability to investigate new technologies and propose suitable integration strategies
