Your new role
This is a 12 month fixed term contract (maternity cover), and is a mix of operational support (booking containers with Freight Forwarders, obtaining freight quotes, tracking shipping to destination, communicating delays and changes to relevant stakeholders), as well as analytical work to help drive overall efficiency (eg reviewing historical freight trends around volumes, performance and cost, and working with the team to support projects and continuous improvement activities).
What you'll need to succeed
You will be proven in a similar logistics / supply chain role, with strong analytical and planning skills. Your CV will demonstrate a good understanding of international logistics, use of freight forwarders, and work done to assess and improve performance vs cost. You will have strong Excel skills (including use of Pivot Tables and Vlookup), and be able to handle detail in a complex and fast moving environment. You will also be a confident communicator, able to articulate the output of your work to stakeholders at all levels, using data to support your views. Experience with Oracle or other recognised ERP system (SAP, Navision, Dynamix etc) is an advantage.
