Workchain is currently seeking a Workshop Operative to join our client's team in Bedford. As a Workshop Operative, you will be responsible for assisting with various tasks in a busy industrial workshop. This particular client deals with construction equipment across the UK, they are a family run business looking for an experienced hands on worker to join their team. The Workshop operative will need to have knowledge of electrical components, mechanical or construction tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembling and disassembling components
- Operating machinery and tools
- Performing quality checks on finished products
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
- PAT Testing (Training will be provided)
- Adding company stickers to products
- Working out in the yard to ensure it is a clean environment
- Jetwashing equipment to make sure they are up to company standard
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- We are looking for someone that has got relevant experience in either an engineering or mechanical background
- The candidate needs to be very hands on, have a keen eye for faults and an understanding of different components
- Professional candidate, looking to excel in a workplace and be able to contribute with their own knowledge and experience
- Work well in a team, happy to learn and mold their already learnt skills into the companies way of working
