CNC Setter/Operator required for a global manufacturer based in Bedford. Offering a permanent, full-time career opportunity for an experienced CNC Setter who is looking to work a rotating AM/PM shift, Monday to Friday with a highly competitive salary up to £38,000 (inc. of shift). Working as part of a busy and successful manufacturing team, your key responsibilities will include the CNC setting and operation of manual machines, performing simultaneous sequences of operations on a range of components in compliance with customer specifications. You will work with complex, technical drawings, providing a tool list and set-up sheet to obtain appropriate tooling and measuring equipment to complete tasks and associated works.
AS CNC Setter/Operator you will set the CNC machine tools to the program level, using multiple tooling stations, and producing component parts to company standard. You will perform first article inspection checks, completing the necessary reports and quality control documentation. Responsible for conducting dimensional and visual checks using appropriate measuring equipment, verniers and gauges, to ensure components meet inspection standards.
Naturally, you will have worked within a lean manufacturing environment, participating in Kaizen activities to improve work processes and thus increase efficiency. Daily liaison with Production Engineering, Quality and Supervision in problem-solving and determining maximum efficiency. Your career to date will evidence previous experience in setting and operating CNC Turning and/or milling and/or Mill/Turning Machines, with an understanding of Geometric Tolerancing. There is a need to regularly lift and/or move up to 5 kgs or heavier.
