Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking dedicated Estates Assistants to join a large college based within Winchester, on a temporary, long-term basis. These positions may become permanent for the right candidate.

With specialist and designated staff supporting the growth and development of a variety of sectors, your role will be crucial in the safety and upkeep of the premises.
As the Estates Assistant, the duties will include locking and unlocking buildings, undertaking internal and external maintenance, porterage, driving and other duties as required to keep the buildings and grounds in good state. You must be physically fit to undertake manual work with flexibility around rotating shift patterns. Experience within a maintenance role would be desired, but a hard-working and determined candidate is crucial for the position.
Essential skills for this position include:
- Sufficiently fit to work outside in all weathers and able to lift up to 15 kg weight, able to pick up items from ground, waist and head levels.
- Willing to work flexibly.
- An empathy with 16 – 19 age range.
- Friendly personality with good sense of humour.
- Valid driving licence.
- One-day Emergency First Aid qualification or a willingness to obtain it.
- Committed to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.
- Committed to the principles of equality and diversity.
Desirable: Trade or maintenance background with skills in any of carpentry, masonry, electrics, plumbing.
The salary for this role is currently set between £12.83 to £14 per hour depending on experience, and will be a full- time, temporary position. The role will be set to start as soon as possible, pending successful interview and compliance process.
