Position: Ornithologist
Location: Wareham, Dorset
Salary: £23,000 - £32,000 (DOE)
A leading multidisciplinary consultancy, specialising in areas such as masterplanning, urban design, landscape architecture, environmental assessments, ecology, arboriculture, and green infrastructure, is looking for a passionate Ornithologist to join their team in Wareham.

Ornithologist Responsibilities**:**
As an Ornithologist, you will work closely with Ecologists, Landscape Architects, and Design Planners. Your role will include:
- Leading and conducting ornithological surveys
- Collecting and analysing data, conducting desk-based research, and preparing technical reports
- Experience with Ecological Impact Assessments and Shadow Habitats Regulations Assessments is advantageous
- Supporting additional ecological surveys, such as those for water voles, otters, badgers, bats, and various habitats
- Providing ecological and ornithological advice to clients, stakeholders, and project teams
- Mentoring colleagues interested in ornithology, supporting their professional development
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies
Ornithologist Requirements
- A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Strong bird identification skills and experience with ornithological survey techniques
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
