Production Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to join a manufacturing company based in Poole. They design and supply tools for the oil and gas industry and this an opportunity to be part of a strong team. Responsible for the training and support of machinists to develop their skills and, when needed, carry out machine work.

Responsibilities Include

Provide supervision of the manufacturing staff and processes to ensure a smooth flow of work, providing technical assistance where needed.

Estimating times and costs on a wide range of components produced in internal manufacturing facility.

Provide ongoing training to the production team.

Using Materials Resource Planning (MRP) system to load manufacturing and inspection capacity, to achieve narrow deadlines.

Planning machine shop loading around staff holidays and sicknesses.

Communicating the schedule to staff and that the schedule is being met on daily basis.

Purchasing the raw material, tooling, and consumable requirements to ensure the smooth flow of production

Organising and scheduling machine maintenance and annual servicing.

Provide training to new staff and for upskilling and supporting the team to ensure they are able to meet the standards required.

Ensure that the team work in a safe manner and reporting any concerns to the Production Manager.

Ensure the work environment is kept clean and tidy. Ensure all materials, tools, gauges, and consumables are correctly stored and accessible.

Facilitate continuous improvement of activities, processes, and procedures.

Troubleshooting machinist/inspectors wherever needed.

Person Skills

Punctual, good team player.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Manufacturing/production planning experience preferred.

Experience using Microsoft office, MRP & Scheduling systems.

ISO 9001 experience.

Responsible for ensuring that the HSE Management System is implemented within the operations under their control.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday (ongoing 4-day week trial)

40 hours

Salary and Benefits

Salary up to £37390 (DOE)

Overtime paid at x1.33

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
