A successful aviation business require a Buyer. Applicants should have previous procurement or supply chain experience, be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and confident in dealing with suppliers and stakeholders.
The Buyer will join a supportive team of Buyers and Senior Buyers reporting into a Procurement Manager. This is a fast-paced dynamic environment in which the Buyer will manage supply chain partners, to ensure goods/services are available to meet customer demand. The focus of the role is operational, driving suppliers against OTD and OTIF metrics.
Specific duties of the Buyer include:
- Raising and placing purchase orders
- Supplier orderbook management
- Expediting
- Managing supplier relationships and looking at ways to improve performance
- Internal stakeholder management and relationship building - Production, Quality, Finance, Engineering etc.
Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Previous experience as a Buyer, or in a broader procurement, purchasing or supply chain role
- Familiarity with a manufacturing or engineering environment
- IT literate - MS Packages, an MRP or ERP system
- Motivated, self-starter, Team player
- An interest in, knowledge of or experience within an aviation or aerospace setting would be advantageous
