Job Title: Commissioning Engineer

Murray Myers Recruitment is currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer for our client in Wolverhampton. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will oversee a variety of commissioning activities throughout the entire lifecycle of specialized engineering projects. You will act as the primary representative of the commissioning function, liaising with clients and various departments within our client's organization, which operates within the nuclear industry.

Using your robust engineering expertise, you will analyze relevant information from specification and design documents to craft, develop, and implement project commissioning strategies tailored to bespoke projects within the nuclear sector. Taking pride in your work, you will take ownership of assigned work packages and ensure their successful delivery, contributing significantly to our client's position as a key player in the nuclear market.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the tendering process for new projects by accurately estimating the required hours for commissioning work, detailing what is encompassed within the estimate.
- Develop comprehensive commissioning strategies for new bespoke projects and ensure their effective implementation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Create and refine test and commissioning documentation specific to each project, including but not limited to pressure tests, proof load tests, control panel inspections, and setting to work documents.
- Manage the transition from manufacturing to commissioning, assessing equipment readiness, and vice versa once in-house commissioning work is satisfactorily completed.
- Conduct factory and site acceptance testing, meticulously adhering to procedures, including risk assessments, equipment readiness, and completion of all testing requirements.
- Identify and report faults or non-conformities during testing, actively supporting in their resolution according to business protocols.
- Ensure timely completion of work within allocated timeframes and budget constraints, promptly communicating any deviations to the project manager.
- Prioritize safety in all aspects of test work, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

- HNC Qualified or equivalent, or higher qualification.
- Extensive workplace experience in engineering.
- Proficiency in operating mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
- Familiarity with relevant British and European Standards, such as BS7671 for electrical engineers.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations or equipment seamlessly.
