Domain Architect

Are you an experienced Domain Architect who is looking for an exciting new opportunity?

Our Public Service client is currently looking for a Domain Architect to join their team on an initial 12 month contract. The successful applicant will have a key focus on Data Analytics and warehousing and will shape how technology is deployed to meet the needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the potential advantages, opportunities, and costs of moving the data warehouse to the AWS cloud.

  • Explore the opportunities for automating QA workflows for customer data products, while analysing the technical viability.

  • Lead the architectural design for integrating various data sources necessary for analytics, such as Salesforce, Ordnance Survey datasets, and others.

  • Deliver architecture and design documentation to support the following goals:

  • Merging document archives into the cloud-based archive system.

  • Establishing a centralized virus scanning solution.

  • Migrating pre-payment functionality to a system outside the current finance platform.

  • Assisting initiatives to remove custom-built features from the financial platform.

  • Create plans to ensure long-term maintainability of the data warehouse and associated services, including document management, HR, and finance systems.

Key Applicant Requirements

  • Deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases such as Postgres, MongoDB, Informix, and Oracle.
  • Experience in the design and deployment of data warehouse solutions, including GeoSpatial data models (PostGIS) and Python programming.
  • Designing and securing consensus on technical solutions for software projects across teams.
  • Effectively engaging stakeholders and understanding requirements from areas like Product Management, Service Design, and Operations.
  • Communicating complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences in written, verbal, and visual formats.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and implementing microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with unit testing, system test automation frameworks, and tools that support rapid development.

This role offers hybrid working although requires regular attendance in office therefore candidates must live within a commutable distance of either Glasgow or Edinburgh. The role is Outside IR35 and has a maximum day rate of £600.
