Teacher of Music

Are you passionate about the importance of Music education? Music has been proven to play a key role in brain development and has a big impact on student's lives both in and outside of the classroom. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students by fostering their creativity and passion for music.

A school in Dudley believes in the importance of Music education and is looking for a dedicated teacher to join their Arts department full-time in January 2025 (or earlier if possible). The school has a wonderful array of musical instruments and facilities for you to utilise and create engaging and exciting lessons.

Key responsibilities:
- Plan and teach engaging lessons that motivate the students in your subject and cater to the needs of diverse learners
- Mark and assess students work and track student progression
- Have excellent curriculum knowledge that continues to develop - particularly the new and engaging ways to teach Music as the subject continues to evolve.
- Have strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

To apply for this role, you will need:

  • QTS - Qualified Teacher status in Music (ECT's, formerly known as NQT's, are encouraged to apply)
  • Excellent subject knowledge of Music in Key Stages 3 (KS3) and 4 (KS4) is essential
  • Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills
  • A strong school reference from your recent employer/placement

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
