Data Scientist

Our client is a global technology company headquartered in China, renowned for its contributions to telecommunications and consumer electronics. They are a leading provider of telecommunications equipment and services, including network infrastructure, mobile devices, and cloud computing solutions. Operating in over 170 countries and is recognised for its significant investments in research and development, aiming to drive advancements in technology and connectivity worldwide.

They are currently seeking a Data Scientist to join their UK team, and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in Data Science, Machine Learning, and Statistical Analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex business problems and improve decision-making processes.
  • Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that support strategic initiatives and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Design and conduct experiments, A/B tests, and data analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of various strategies and interventions.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI technologies, and apply best practices to enhance data-driven capabilities.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and quality of data used in analyses and modeling efforts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in data science, machine learning, and statistical analysis, with a strong portfolio of projects and accomplishments.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Julia, and experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks and tools (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and experience in creating impactful visualizations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
