Lead Playworker

Empowering Learning are wokring with a primary school based in Shadwell Leeds. We are looking for a Lead Playworker.

The before and after school club covers yr 1 - 6 inclusive.

Morning club is 7:15 start for staff - 9:30 then after school is 3 - 6pm for staff. Previous experience working with children essential. NVQ level 3 childcare or equivalent is desirable. Someone who has worked in a wrap round provision before, or similar, a TA , child minder etc and is able to lead our small club (most days we have a max of 20 children in the sessions) is what I am looking for. Admin support comes from the school so they don't need to do that but they need to know how to plan play activities for children and manage behaviour.

You will be involved in classroom duties and off-site recreational activities.

```Duties```
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students.
- Provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism.
- Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Help students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene.
- Support students in their academic and social development.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies.

```Skills```
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs and challenging behaviours.
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviours.
- Knowledge of toddler care and development is a plus.
