Role Overview
The Senior Commercial Finance Manager will provide strategic financial leadership, partnering with key stakeholders across the business to drive commercial decision-making. This role is critical in delivering financial insight and analysis to support growth initiatives, profitability improvement, and operational efficiency. You will be responsible for managing a high-performing team, delivering accurate forecasting, budgeting, and reporting, and influencing key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering: Collaborate with the Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to optimise performance and profitability.
Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes for the commercial divisions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Profitability Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis on sales and margin performance, product profitability, pricing etc to guide commercial decision-making.
Financial Reporting: Deliver monthly and quarterly financial performance reports, highlighting key business drivers, risks, and opportunities.
Commercial Strategy: Support the development and execution of commercial strategies to drive growth, efficiency, and market share.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring appropriate controls are in place to safeguard business performance.
Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with senior leadership, providing financial guidance and influencing decision-making at the highest levels.
Continuous Improvement: Lead process improvements to enhance financial reporting, forecasting accuracy, and business insight capabilities.
Key Skills and Competencies
Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
Stakeholder Management: Proven experience partnering with cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
Leadership: Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a finance team, driving performance and development.
Financial Expertise: Strong technical finance skills, including experience with financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to translate financial information into clear business recommendations.
Qualifications and Experience
Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
Commercial Finance: Proven experience in financial planning & analysis, business partnering, and supporting commercial teams in driving profitability.
Leadership: Experience managing and developing a team of finance professionals.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the FMCG market, including consumer trends, competitive landscape, and key performance metrics.
