Are you passionate about social media and eager to shape the digital voice of a leading institution? Join De Montfort University (DMU) as a Social Media Strategist in our Marketing and Communications Directorate. In this full-time, permanent role, you will report to the Associate Director of Web and Digital Experience and work within a newly formed, innovative team. Your mission will be to craft and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that supports our student recruitment efforts and aligns with DMU's broader strategic, marketing and communications goals.

Role

As the Social Media Strategist, you will develop tailored strategies for each social media channel, ensuring maximum engagement and reach across diverse audiences. You will work closely with social media content producers across various departments, guiding the creation of engaging, high-quality content that reflects the university's brand voice and strategic objectives. Your role will also involve overseeing both paid and organic social media campaigns, providing insights and recommendations to enhance our social media presence.

Your expertise in data analysis and social media trends will be pivotal in monitoring performance metrics and integrating relevant findings into our strategy. Managing social media tools such as Hootsuite, you will streamline content scheduling, publishing, and reporting, while also training colleagues on effective tool usage.

Additionally, you will set up and monitor social media listening topics, offering valuable insights on public conversations about DMU and identifying opportunities or issues that require attention.

Efficiency and process improvement will be key components of your role, as you identify ways to enhance social media workflows and develop best practices for management across the university. You will support DMU's broader strategic objectives by participating in planning sessions and providing expertise on emerging social media trends. Furthermore, you will stay informed about new platforms and technologies, offering training and support to staff on best practices and assisting with crisis communication efforts when necessary.
