Lead Installation Technician

Location: Home based/ Hybrid- involving regular travel across London and the UK.

Company van and tool kit provided.

Here's what you will be doing

Key Activities:

Team Leadership: Manage a team of installation technicians in London and other UK regions, ensuring high standards in installation, retrofit, and repair projects, beyond the standard HIU team scope.

Technical Oversight: Lead and oversee the installation, retrofit, and repair of appliances, pipework, electrical systems, AMR, and metering systems. Act as the subject matter expert for new HIU and Heat Pump technologies.

Project Management: Responsible for project planning, management, and completion, including network improvements, team training, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and KPIs.

Team Development: Provide training, mentoring, and development for technicians, ensuring they meet high competency standards. Handle escalated technical issues and complaints, and oversee the team in the manager's absence.

Operational Supervision: Oversee the commissioning, testing, and safety checks of new systems, ensuring they meet E.ON and manufacturer standards. Support retrofit works and network improvement projects.

Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to E.ON's safety rules and processes, with a focus on continuous improvement and sharing best practices.

Flexibility: Support HIU technician duties during high demand and ensure team availability for urgent tasks. Available for extended hours, up to 9 pm guaranteeing seamless operations and continuity of service, while still managing their team effectively the following day.

What we need from you

  • Some project management experience, and KPI management required.
  • Relevant engineering or technician qualifications (e.g., HND, HNC, NVQ3).
  • Extensive knowledge of DHN infrastructure, boilers, electrical circuits, AMR systems, heat pumps, and HIUs.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards (e.g., Building Regulations, CP1 2020).
  • Proficient in IT, particularly MS Teams, Word, Excel, and Project and computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) job logic or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.

It would be great if you had

  • IOSH Managing Safely, CP1 2020 Course, E.ON Authorized Engineer, Part P Electrical.
  • Understanding of CES engineering, safety, and HR processes.
