We're excited to partner with an expanding company based in Hereford, seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join the team. In this key role, you'll ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, providing critical insights that fuel informed decision-making. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Finance, with excellent opportunities for mentorship and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
Month-End Close: Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
General Ledger: Maintain the general ledger, ensuring proper classification and coding of all transactions.
Fixed Assets: Manage the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and depreciation calculations.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Tax Compliance: Prepare VAT returns and assist with corporate tax filings.
Audit Support: Liaise with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance internal controls.
Ad-hoc Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills:
ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified or equivalent
Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
