About the Role
As an accounts assistant, you'll be part of a close-knit team including qualified and part-qualified accountants, bookkeepers, and tax advisors. You will play a key role in preparing year-end accounts, reviewing VAT returns, assisting with larger accounts, and supporting clients with their accounting software needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with at least 2 years of experience in an accounting practice, who is ready to take the next step in their career. You will gain hands-on experience with software such as Iris, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent, while working with a diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and assisting with year-end accounts
- Reviewing and submitting VAT returns
- Assisting clients with accounting software setup and queries
- Managing client relationships and supporting larger accounts
- Collaborating with internal teams, including bookkeepers
- Handling additional administrative duties as required
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting practice
- Experience with accounting software like Iris, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent
- Strong communication skills to manage client queries and build relationships
- Experience with year-end accounts and VAT returns
- A team player with a desire to grow and take on new challenges
