We now seek a Managing Surveyor to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role

As a Managing Surveyor, you will oversee the surveying and commercial functions of multiple projects, ensuring optimal profitability and cash flow performance.

You'll ensure that each project achieves the best possible commercial result in line with business objectives, building strong relationships with the client, design team and Supply Chain, driving a culture of teamwork and ensuring compliance with Business Processes, Procedures and Health & Safety standards.

Developing our procurement strategy, you will manage and review subcontract procurement on projects, manage subcontractor selection and ensure all commercial staff deliver accurate and complete orders.

Additionally, you will:

- Oversee the preparation and presentation of a detailed, timely and robust second stage tender
- Ensure the timely and comprehensive issue of valuations, final accounts and all other commercial submissions
- Ensure the timely and accurate production of CVRs with validated, considered and accurate projections on turnover, cash flow, margin and commercial position
- Oversee and manage project risk and opportunities
- Oversee the development of the commercial staff

About You

To be considered as a Managing Surveyor, you will need to demonstrate:

- Relevant experience in the construction sector and a general understanding of the complexities involved
- A record of achieving the best value outcome
- To be comfortable managing teams and overseeing staff development and training
- The organisational skills to deal with several projects of varying value, type and complexity
- Previous engagement with Standard Forms of Measurement and the ability to manage re-measurement
- Knowledge of statutory and contractual obligations placed upon the Main Contractor
- Strong understanding of the commonly used provisions of the Standard Forms of Contract
- The ability to prepare, review and/or analyse CVRs/Cost to Completes
- The technical skills to review and challenge construction and pre-construction programmes
- The commercial awareness to plan, maintain, control and report on the financial administration of projects

High-Quality Residential (HQR) and/or heritage experience would be beneficial to your application.
