Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Salary: £27,840 - £30,610

Hours of Working: 37 hours per week (Monday - Thursday: 08:30 - 16:30, Friday: 08:30 - 16:00)

Location: Alness, Ross & Cromarty

Contract: Temporary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our client's team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of maintenance tasks, ensuring that Council properties and facilities are maintained to a high standard. You will work across multiple disciplines including joinery, masonry, plumbing, and general repairs, contributing to the upkeep and safety of Council properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out joinery repairs, including the replacement of broken window panes, fitting draught excluders, and replacing doors and locks.
  • Perform masonry works such as resetting paths, steps, and handrails, repairing loose slates, and installing chimney cowls and clothes poles.
  • Handle minor plumbing repairs, including replacing washers, clearing blocked drains and gutters, and repairing drains and manholes.
  • Assist Housing Maintenance Officers and other technical staff with surveys and inspections.
  • Conduct minor repairs, including graffiti removal, and repairs to Council property equipment such as seats and fencing.
  • Perform minor repairs to fencing and gates.
  • Undertake minor painting work, especially during tenancy changes.
  • Accurately record work completed and monitor materials used.
  • Participate in the emergency call-out rota system for Council properties and other facilities within the scheme.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Carry out any other duties as required by the role.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in general maintenance, including joinery, plumbing, masonry, and painting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Flexibility to participate in an emergency call-out rota system.
