Tate are supporting a local authority in Bristol to find a Refugee Resettlement Manager to join their successful team immediately on a temporary basis.

We are looking for someone who has previous experience of Refugee and Asylum processes and systems while also being able to manage and lead a team of Advisors and Officers.

What will you be doing?

You will be providing strategic and operational leadership for the delivery of Refugee Resettlement and Asylum Seeker (including people with No Recourse to Public Funds) Services. Managing the resources that fund services to refugees and asylum seekers in a way that complies with funding instructions (largely from Home Office schemes) and local authority processes. While also providing support and opportunities in line with local authority duties and strategic objectives for refugees and asylum seekers.

To play a leadership and management role in the delivery of Bristol City Council Strategy for Refugee and Asylum Seeker Inclusion. This means a scope of responsibility that ranges from meeting basic needs to wider objectives of safety, inclusion and promoting the independence of refugees.

Provide system-wide leadership, working with key partners, to provide refugee resettlement services in line with grant funding instructions and Bristol City Council Strategy.

Provide system wide leadership that supports delivery of support for asylum seekers and those with no recourse to public funds in line with practice guidance, that delivers the council's duties and aligns with strategic objectives. Provide high quality and effective interventions, to deliver council strategic objectives.

What you will need

  • Highly-developed advocacy, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Significant migrant health and wellbeing, housing, care, education and/or equalities experience at senior management level.
  • Degree or professional qualification in housing, social work, environmental health or related discipline, or equivalent qualification, and or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of how refugee and asylum systems operate, and of how housing, health, education.
