Assist in delivering the accountancy functions of the finance service.
Support the Chief Accountant in providing a comprehensive professional accountancy and general financial advisory service to budget holders in respect of the activities carried out within service areas.
Ensure all regular accountancy activities are carried out consistently across the Council and to the highest standard.
Support services to ensure that all financial matters are addressed satisfactorily and actions agreed to address any issues. This will include, but not limited to, preparing budget estimates, monitoring budgets and business plans throughout the year, and closing accounts at year-end.
Assist in managing and developing the Council's financial system to ensure that maximum benefit from it is obtained for services users and efficiencies realised.
Bring a commercial view to services and their operation.
