MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

I am delighted to be partnering with a growing business based on the outskirts of Stowmarket seeking to recruit a MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT in a newly created role to supporting decision-making processes by providing accurate financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, whilst working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure financial strategies align with organisational goals.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Reporting:

o Prepare monthly management accounts including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.

o Analyse variances against budget and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to management.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

o Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

o Monitor and manage departmental budgets, helping to guide cost control and expenditure decisions.

  • Performance Analysis:

o Evaluate financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and efficiency.

o Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business performance.

  • Cost Management:

o Conduct cost analyses to determine the financial impact of operations and proposed business changes.

o Provide support in pricing strategies and analysis.

  • Compliance and Governance:

o Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

o Support audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.

  • Collaboration and Advising:

o Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and strategic support.

o Advise on investment opportunities and business planning.

The position would suit a Qualified or 'Qualified by experience' accountant with proven experience in management accounting, a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management, proficiency in Sage and Microsoft Excel, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and engaging communication and interpersonal skills.
